Mystic Mantra: Always say yes to the new - Stay open to new opportunities
To live dangerously is the only way to live to live dangerously is the right way to live.
The human mind is very strange — it is always caught in a dichotomy. On the one hand, we get easily bored with the same old routine, things or people and look for something new and exciting. And on the other hand, we are afraid of the new, the unknown. Because the known is familiar, comfortable and the unknown is scary. But life is unpredictable.
Osho always stands for the new. He says, when an opportunity knocks at the door, go with it. Let this be a fundamental law: always choose the new against the old. The old is not gold for him, the old is dead. You can take it as a success mantra: “Never close your doors before you have experimented with anything — never, never. Otherwise many things remain unlived, unknown. They were available, and you would have gone through something beautiful; you would have been enriched by them. Always say yes to the new.”
Watch all the successful businessmen or politicians or people at the top, the unique quality they have is courage, fearlessness. Rockefeller, the billionaire businessman of America used to say, “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”
There are always two roads ahead, one, the less travelled, and the other, the beaten path. Always take the less travelled one, choose the unfamiliar — you will see that it will sharpen your awareness. Always choose the insecure and you will remain throbbing with life. Always remain adventurous. Never forget for a single moment that life belongs to those who are explorers. Because life is not a highway, it is a walkway in the wilderness which you have to make by walking. The Buddha’s maxim of charaiveti charaiveti is like a driving force that keeps you going: Never become a reservoir, always remain a river — because a river has to move into new territories every day and has to face new problems, new hazards, new situations, new challenges, but that’s how one grows. But just by thinking about it, the heart starts beating faster and the breath is constricted. Doesn’t matter — to live this kind of life, you will have to overcome your fear. The fear clings to the past and your whole life energy wants to go with the new, hence there is a split in your being — you feel divided.
To live dangerously is the only way to live — to live dangerously is the right way to live. And the split disappears if you join your two parts — you take the jump into the abyss. The mind will flutter a little while and then it will be gone. Ignore the mind because life is non-repetitive, and the mind always repeats. Interestingly, happy people don’t hesitate to take risks. And a golden key to remain forever young is: Keep learning something new. Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at 20 or 80. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.
