Mystic Mantra: Inner spiritual regions
Mystics and saints speak of the soul as being of the same spiritual essence as God.
Explorers of the inner realms, such as the great saint Kabir Sahib and Soami Ji Maharaj have described a series of inner regions of varying lights. They also speak of inner celestial music. As this light and sound current flowed out from God it created different planes. There is the purely spiritual region of Sach Khand. Then there is the supra-causal plane which contains a predominance of spirit and a thin veil of illusion. Then there is a region in which there are equal parts of spirit and matter known as the causal-plane. The astral plane contains more matter than the causal, and the physical plane on which we live is predominantly matter and less of spirit. Thus the density of matter increased as the current flowed further from God.
Most religions teach that we have a soul within us that survives the death of the physical body. When the body dies, the soul departs. We also recognise that the soul is of ethereal substance and not made of the matter of which our physical body is made. Those who have had near-death experiences describe themselves as having a body of light, and seeing other people made of light. This is why the people in this physical world cannot see them as they hover above their hospital bed watching the doctor trying to revive them.
Scientists have begun to question whether this body of light that rises above the world is the soul. Whether they wish to call it the soul or not is immaterial, so to speak. The fact is that this body is of spiritual substance.
Mystics and saints speak of the soul as being of the same spiritual essence as God. The current of light and sound flowing from God is also of that essence.
The mechanics of the meditation process is that of connecting the soul within us with the current of light and sound as a method of travelling out of the physical body. When we can bring our attention or soul to the point where it can connect with the current of light and sound, it will merge in it and then travel along with it to the higher spiritual realms.
Until this recent explosion of interest in near-death experiences, few had any recognition of themselves as soul. We have identified so heavily with our body and mind, that we have forgotten our true essence.
Soul is of the same essence as God. God is all love, joy, and peace, and our true nature is also love, joy, and peace.
If we can re-identify ourselves with our soul, we will be able to experience this divine light and love within us. We will also recognise our immortality.
Death of the body will no longer hold any fear for us, for we will see during our lifetime what lies beyond.
