In the absence of any clarity, most people just live life for the sake of living.

God always wants us to triumph over our karmic hurdles because only then will we fulfill the purpose of life, which is to grow into better human beings.

At some point of time in everyone’s life — this question arises — as to what is the purpose of human life? Why are we born and what is the purpose?

In the absence of any clarity, most people just live life for the sake of living. Without any direction in life, it is like wandering in a jungle not knowing whether we going inside the jungle or getting out of it.

Human birth is certainly not without a purpose. We are the most special species of all the species on earth with an enormous potential of intellect, wisdom, growth, free will, revelations, construction, destruction, recreation and emotions.

Through my spiritual experience, I summarise the human life’s purpose as fivefold — and they are as follows:

To be progressive: As the Creator Himself is progressive, we are also expected to be progressive. We have been sent here by the Creator to evolve ourselves materialistically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. Through a progressive attitude, we get ourselves tuned in with the frequency of the Creator. But however, our ego of doership blocks this tuning. We get so caught in the mess of evolving materialistically that we end up forgetting that we are expected to evolve spiritually as well. We attribute our success to ourselves and take pride in it whereas He expects us to attribute all our achievements, success, growth and possessions to Him.

To enjoy His creation and live happily: He has given everything to everyone to enjoy life based on what each one deserves and what can give happiness but yet we complain for insufficiency out of expectations and comparisons and feel sorrow. We have surrendered our happiness to our expectations, ego and comparisons. We should enjoy His creation as it is — we have what it takes to be happy, but we get happy and unknowingly this desire to be more happy is, more often than not, related to materialistic things only.

To spread happiness: Not only should we always remain happy, but we should also spread happiness around us. He wants us to follow his concept of seeking happiness in other’s happiness as He himself has created this universe for others’ happiness and not for himself. A wise saint often said, “The joy of seeing others in joy should be a greater joy than our own joy.”

To liberate ourselves from the worldly entanglement and go back home (go back to Him): Even though we have been sent here for a temporary period and with some specific objective, we have forgotten the same and got engrossed in the attractions of the world. He wants us to come back to Him and remain in eternal bliss.

To help others liberate: Not only have we got engrossed in the world, His other children also got engrossed and He feels sad for them. He wants us to remind others and help them too to liberate. It is important to understand that our purpose does not stop at enlightening ourselves. We have to persistently try to help others around us to be liberated as well.
