Fitness is her religion and helping people transform their minds and bodies from around the Big Blue Marble and guiding them towards better living is her karmic duty. For world-renowned life coach, Jasmin Waldmann, following a holistic approach towards life is the ultimate mantra. She believes that physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.

Born in Bamberg, Bavaria, Germany to a Romanian mother and a German father, Jasmin says that she had the best of both worlds while growing up. “I learnt a lot from my parents. They are my role models. They encouraged me to learn and study everything under the Sun — from sewing my own clothes to reading psychology and medicines to fitness and more. But when I was 13 years old, I lost my mother, who was like my backbone. It was a serious personal setback but it was also one of those life-changing moments when I realised the importance of being able to balance one’s inner self. I felt lost, drained and aimless. Soon, I understood that body follows the mind. I got inclined to the world of fitness. Since then, I have travelled and lived extensively in the US, Australia and Asia, picking up experiences that shaped my approach to life,” shares Jasmin.

The quest to find answers to attain an ultimate balance between mind and body has made the fitness diva a globetrotter. She has numerous stamps on her passport and reveals, currently Kashmir and New Zealand are on her mind. The founder of Pilardio — a holistic mind-body fitness programme, adds, “I love nature and talking to locals. Whenever I am travelling, I go local — live life like a local.” However, this gorgeous beauty, hates shopping. “Europe and some parts of the US like New York and Las Vegas are great destinations for shopping but I confess that I hate shopping,” she laughs.

Jasmin has varied clientele including high-level endurance athletes like MS Dhoni and several others.

Talking about maintaining a healthy work-life balance, she reveals, “I am a big fan of structuring. Sundays are family days and through-out the week, I make sure that I eat at least two breakfasts and one dinner with them. Working out together is also one of my favourite things to do with family.” Jasmin who lives with her life partner and two dogs, adds, “I am a very private person and I pick and choose people whom I want in my life. Attracting positive energy makes life happier and fuss-free.” Ask her if she has any cheat days and she laughs, “I don’t believe in having cheat days. I eat what I want though I don’t feel the drive to eat anything unhealthy. If at all I crave for something, I take the tiniest of spoons.”

To unwind, Jasmin loves music, not listening but singing. “I love singing out loud. I am more of a rock-pop person but I LOVE Bollywood music,” she avers as she quickly breaks into Har kisi ko nahi milta from Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Boss. “Besides that, I prefer meditation. I also love to read and talk to people. I love exploring as Mother Nature is humongous. Also, people interest me a lot, discovering human minds fascinates me,” she quips. Lastly, as a piece of advice to those struggling through life, Jasmin asserts, “I don’t believe in multi-tasking, it is exhausting, unsatisfying and unnecessary. One should live every moment to the fullest to find and understand the true essence of life. Self-motivation is quite important to lead a happy life. One needs to stop under-estimating one’s true self in order to overcome struggles in life.”
