By issuing an ordinance on Tuesday that nullifies the Supreme Court’s ruling barring elected politicians from holding on to their membership of the House if convicted for an offence carrying a jail term of at least two years, the UPA is preventing the disqualification of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, a supporter of the government, and Congress MP Rashid Masood.
