Hospitals add 100 beds for govindas
The BMC has made an additional provision of 100 beds in its three major hospitals to ensure that injured govinda pathaks get timely treatment during the dahi handi festival on Thursday.
The BMC has made an additional provision of 100 beds in its three major hospitals to ensure that injured govinda pathaks get timely treatment during the dahi handi festival on Thursday. “Forty additional beds will kept ready in KEM and Sion Hospitals, while Nair Hospital will have 10 extra beds. The 16 suburban hospitals will also be equipped with 10 additional beds each,” said Dr Suhasini Nagda, director (medical education and major hospitals). According to civic officials, doctors and employees will be available in all three shifts on Thursday for the treatment of govindas. Essential medicines and operation services have also been arranged for. Civic officials said that govindas with minor inju-ries, however, will be discharged after being given first aid.
