Ash’s kiss and tell moment
Aishwarya Rai is not one to pour her heart out to amuse the paparazzi. But the calculated actress caved in when veteran British journalist Sir David Frost prodded her about her first onscreen lip lock with Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 2. “You’re going to get me to talk about something that I haven’t, in any of my interviews,” Rai told Frost in an exclusive rendezvous on Al Jazeera English.

I had already declined a couple of scripts purely on the basis of not being comfortable with the physical scenes and kissing because I’d never done that on screen. I wasn’t very comfortable with the idea but I thought to myself that if I have to go down this path, let me first do it at home in Indian cinema to see if my doubts are true. And they were,” she said. Although it is a norm today, kissing on screen had stirred up quite a storm back in 2006. She said, “You’ll be surprised to know that I actually got a couple of legal notices from people saying, ‘You’re an example for our girls. You have led an exemplary life and they’re not comfortable with you doing this on screen so why did you And I was like, I’m just an actor doing my job!”
