I was tired of doing comedy: Arshad

After being in the making for two years, Zila Ghaziabad is finally releasing. Are you breathing now More than me, I am always worried about the producers. We actors do our bit and move on to the next film, but it is the producer and director who cannot rest until the film releases. Now that the film is releasing, I am happy for them. Also, for me it is a personal high since for the first time I am playing a villain. In this industry people get typecast but at least here the makers thought of me differently. The promos seem to indicate that we have a modern day “Gabbar” here. Your comments Yes, if I can compare this villain to anyone then it would be Gabbar Singh. But I didn’t do the role keeping anyone particular in mind. I have tried to be as original as possible. Even when I played Circuit I tried to play the character as differently as possible from all the on-screen taporis we had seen.
The face off between you and Sanjay Dutt is interesting considering it is worlds apart from the Munnabhai series. Yes, for the first time we are on opposite sides of the fence. He is someone I am very close to. So I had trouble challenging him during those angry scenes. For him it is easy since he is a switch-on-switch off actor. It isn’t easy for me.
Do you also take on Vivek Oberoi in the film Every character has their own story track. Vivek and I are together in beginning but later we part ways. But whenever Sanjay, me and Vivek come face to face, there are fireworks.
