Mumbai: Sri Lanka batsman Kusal Mendis suffered an accident as he skidded off a bike at the R Premadasa Stadium during the team's post-match celebrations.

Mendis rode a bike which was presented to Sri Lanka after they whitewashed Bangladesh in the 3-match ODI series at home. Kusal Mendis also took the bike for a spin around the R Premadasa Stadium but could not manage to stay in control.

As Mendis was trying to take a turn, he skidded off the bike along with a teammate who was on the back seat. The guards and the groundsmen rushed to help both the players get up on their feet.

Sri Lanka produced a clinical performance to claim a 122-run win in the third and final ODI of the series. Former skipper Angelo Mathews 87-run knock steered the side to post 294 runs on the board. Mendis also scored a match-winning half-century in the match, building a 101-run partnership with Mathews.

Sri Lanka registered their first one-day international series sweep in more than three years. Sri Lanka's last sweep was a 2-0 series win at in Ireland in June 2016.

Veteran batsman Angelo Matthews was named the Man of the Series for his batting accomplishments in the three-match series.
