Mumbai: Twitterattis slammed former Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum after his World Cup match predictions went wrong. McCullum predicted that Bangladesh’s only win would come against a depleted Sri Lankan side, and they would also lose their remaining eight matches.

However, the Bangladeshi tigers proved McCullum’s predictions totally incorrect as they defeated the struggling South Africa side by 21 runs to start their World cup campaign.

The Bangladesh team totally stunned the Proteas who were looking bounce to back after receiving a heavy thrashing at the hands of hosts England. The Mashrafe Morataza-led team were put into bat by Proteas skipper, Faf Du Plessis.

The Shakib-al Hasan team seizing the ultimate opportunity put the tigers to a commanding position after Shakib and Mushfiqur scored 50s each to steer Bangladesh to a mammoth total of 330. South Africa began their chase well, but, suddenly, the team crumbled like a deck of cards as they managed to score 309, only 21 runs shorter of victory.

After the win the Bangladeshi fans took to twitter and pounced on former New Zealand wicket-keeper, Brendon McCullum to slam him for his wrong prediction.

Although, the former Kiwi batsman came back and thanked the fans for their feedback followed by a tweet which stated “Impressive performance from @BCBtigers to defeat @OfficialCSA. I expected SA to win but Bangladesh played well. In regards to my predictions, thanks for the feedback on getting this one wrong. Won’t be the last but average at the end will look alright I think. Can’t win em all”
