Kochi: Even though he is banned from playing, former Test bowler S. Sreesanth’s aggression hasn’t cooled off a bit. He unleashed a frontal assault on cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra in a Twitter spat late on Friday.

The temperamental speedster, who continues to serve a life ban from the Board of Control for Cricket in India for his alleged involvement in Indian Premier League spot-fixing, despite being acquitted, was angered by a comment Chopra made in social media as a reply to a fan.

“He is eligible to play, but any cricketer who has been involved in spot-match-fixing scandals should not be given a comeback. It is not right to bring back those who sold the game and their country for personal gains,” Chopra had replied to a fan, who quizzed about Sreesanth’s potential return.

That triggered a plethora of tweets from the Kerala pacer. “How can you be so two-faced? Bro? Ashamed to even call you that,” tweeted Sreesanth.

“What have you replied? I will play for the country no matter how small my chances are. Trust me on that ‘mai cricket dil jaan se khelta hoon’ (I play cricket with my heart),” he added.

Not finished yet, Sreesanth went on, “I hope your comments about desh drohi (traitor) etc also includes the other 13 people who were charged and the unopened envelope.”
