BCCI CEO flies to Windies to seek Kohli's feedback on new coach appointment

New Delhi: Rahul Johri, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) CEO will be meeting skipper Virat Kohli in West Indies for the latter's feedback on the appointment on new head coach.

As per sources, Johri is expected to have a detailed discussion with skipper Kohli on the appointment of the coach and other support staff.

The Men in Blue are currently involved in a short limited-overs series with West Indies, which comprises of five ODIs and a T20I.

He will be returning back to India on July 9, a day before the BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) will be conducting interviews for the post of India's head coach.

The head coach position has been vacant since Kumble's resignation following India's 180-run defeat against arch-rivals Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final at the Oval on June 18.

Many names like Ravi Shastri, Venkatesh Prasad, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus and Dodda Ganesh along with Lalchand Rajput are in fray for post of India head coach.

However, the BCCI invited fresh applications and the deadline was extended to July 9.

The BCCI has already stated that Team India will get its new head coach before their tour to Sri Lanka beginning July 26.
