IPL 2017: Rising Pune Supergiants acquire Shardul Thakur

This is the second trade done by Rising Pune Supergiants after having secured Delhi Darevdevils' batsman Mayank Agarwal.

Mumbai: Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) have roped in fast bowler Shardul Thakur for the upcoming tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The 25-year-old pacer has appeared in just one game in the tournament when he represented Kings XI Punjab against Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla in 2015.

This is the second trade done by RPS after having secured Delhi Darevdevils' batsman Mayank Agarwal.

This will be second edition of IPL for the Pune-based team. Earlier, the franchise had named Steve Smith as their captain in place of Mahendra Singh Dhoni besides also buying England's Ben Stokes for a whopping Rs 14.5 crore in the player's auction last month to strengthen their line-up.

The season 10 of the IPL begins on April 5 and runs until May 21.
