Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has backed his teammate Gautam Gambhir over distributing derogatory pamphlets on his rival Atishi.  Gautam Gambhir was accused of distributing pamphlets which contained obscene remarks about Atishi.

As per reports of NDTV, Harbhajan Singh has backed Gambhir saying that, "I am shocked to note (the) events involving Gautam Gambhir. I know him well and he can never talk ill of any woman. Whether he wins or loses is another matter but the man is above all this."

The 37-year-old left-handed batsman, who is also Padmashree Awardee joined BJP after shifting deciding to shift his career from cricket to politics. Gambhir was chosen to contest general election from East Delhi constituency on BJP ticket.

Gambhir has also sent a defamation notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Atishi saying that he would sue them if they don’t withdraw their allegations and apologize to him.

Gambhir has also pledged to quit politics if AAP is successful in proving its charge. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has furiously responded with a counter-threat of defamation.

Atishi broke down in her press conference on Thursday, where the leaders displayed the pamphlet full of religious and sexist remarks on the candidate. Today, Atishi filed a complaint against her rival with the Delhi Commission for Women.  Atishi also tweeted regarding her reaction on the pamphlet.

Currently, all seven seats of Delhi are with BJP and today is the last day of campaigning. The votes will be counted on May 23.
