Kanpur: Delhi Daredevils continued to befuddle with the bat, coming from nowhere to nick an improbable two-wicket win over Gujarat Lions in an inconsequential game at Green Park here on Wednesday.

Chasing 196, Delhi went through their ritual loss of early wickets before Shreyas Iyer (96, 57b, 15x4, 2x6) stabilised matters somewhat with Karun Nair (30, 15b).

With wickets falling regularly, the asking rate was high all the way but Pat Cummins (24, 13b) helped him put on 61 for the seventh wicket before he and Iyer too fell to add yet more drama to the finish. Amit Mishra knocked off the winning runs with two balls in hand.

Earlier, Aaron Finch hammered 69 off 39 balls as the Lions recovered to post 195/5, the Aussie powerhouse getting good support from Karthik (40, 28b) in a 92-run stand for the fourth wicket after being reduced to 56/3 in the seventh over. Finch was the stand out the batsman for the Lions who were put in to bat by Daredevils.
