Twitter erupts after Virat Kohli scores his 42nd ODI century

This century makes it 67 international centuries for Kohli. At present, he stands eight in the list of highest run-scorers in ODI cricket.

Mumbai: Yesterday, people witnessed history in the making after Indian captain, Virat Kohli, scored his 42nd ODI century against West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

This century of his came along with several broken records. The broken records include overtaking Sourav Ganguly as India’s second-highest run-getter in ODIs and breaking Javed Miandad’s 26-year-long-standing record to become the highest run-scorer against West Indies in ODIs.

Virat's century came after a long wait of five months, something that is unusual for the Indian skipper. This century makes it 67 international centuries for Kohli. At present, he stands at number eight in the list of all-time highest run-scorers in ODI cricket and also has the third-highest number of international centuries.

In light of Kohli’s century, Twitter soon started chanting the name of Virat Kohli. #KingKohli was trending throughout the social media website. Fans, as well as cricketing legends, took to Twitter to praise the talisman.
