Mirpur: It is not everyday scenario where a cricketer can better Chris Gayle’s record in Twenty20 cricket. However, Sabbir Rahman on Sunday did just that as he went past Gayle to register the record for the highest individual score in an innings in the Bangladesh Premier League.

The Bangladesh cricketer slammed 122 runs in 61 balls surpassing the Jamaican star’s 112-run mark. Sabbir achieved this feat during a match between Barisal Bulls and Rajshahi Kings, at the Shere Bangla stadium, in Mirpur, Bangladesh.

The 24-year-old hit nine sixes and as many fours, on his way to the record-breaking score.

However, Sabir’s efforts were in vain, as Rajshahi failed to chase down the target of 193 set by Barisal, in a high-scoring match.

Here is how Sabbir demolished the opposition to break Gayle’s record.
