Jash, Ayush star in Kandivli Centre's big win

Jash Ganiga and Ayush Jethwa punished Matunga Centre bowlers to set up innings and 220 runs win for Kandivli Centre in the second round of the 28th LIC Kalppesh Govind Koli Memorial cricket tournament this weekend at Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana.

Opting to bat first in Group C two-day game, Matunga Centre were bowled out for 42 runs in 34 overs with Kevin Chintania and Suryansh Shegde picking three wickets apiece. After a stupendous performance from their bowlers, Kandivli Centre batsmen went on a rampage. Jash plundered 150 not out and Ayush got 132 not out in an unbroken stand of 269 for the second wicket after Nishant Kadam was out for 53. Kandivli Centre declared their innings at 349/1 after 53 overs with a lead of 307 runs.

Matunga Centre batsmen capitulated in the second innings as well and were bowled out for 87 in 27.2 overs in their second innings. Adil Khan was the only batsman to provide some resistance with score of forty. Vishvik Chiplunkar was the pick of bowlers with a three-wicket haul.

In another match in the same group, Vedanta Gadhia struck unbeaten 203 in 228 balls to power Goregaon Centre to 326 for 1 before declaring after 73.5 overs against Dahanu/Chinchani/ PDTSA at Sainath SC. Vedanta hit 34 boundaries during his 286 minutes stay at the crease. Mokshad Vanjari assisted him with 82 runs. Dahanu just escaped with a draw with scores of 118 and 97/9 in their first and second innings. Aman Manihar took five wicket haul in both innings for Goregaon Centre.
