Toronto: The head quarter of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has moved out of Sri Lanka, it is learnt here.  According to the sources, the ACC is located in Dubai now. Incidentally, the news of moving the ACC office shifting from Colombo has not been made public via media release.

Since the formation of the ACC on 19th September in 1983 (it was known as Asian Cricket Conference then), the ACC has seen several "houses" so far.

Till 2003, the ACC head quarter was shifted every two years with the biennial rotation of the President's and Secretary's home country.

Since then it has been in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Singapore, UAE before shifting it to Sri Lanka (during Sumathipala's tenure), where it was located next to the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board office.

"The ACC has "again" moved out of Sri Lanka for few reasons", the source explains. "First to save tax benefits and second to have better co-ordination with the ICC". The two senior officials- Thusith Perera (Sri Lanka) and Sultan Rana (Pakistan) continue to run the office in UAE now, it is also learnt here.
