The only match in which Shaw hasn't scored a ton this season was against Baroda at the Wankhede stadium.

Young Prithvi Shaw struck his fifth hundred in his seventh first-class match to guide Mumbai to 248/6 against Andhra Pradesh in their must-win group C Ranji Trophy game on Friday. The talented opener, who just turned 18 this month, struck a partnetship with his third new partner in four games. He played to score his third ton of the season.

The only match in which Shaw hasn’t scored a ton this season was against Baroda at the Wankhede stadium. The right-handed stylish batsman resurrected the Mumbai innings in the company of ever-reliable Siddhesh Lad after the team was reduced to 64/3 in morning session. The pair added 125 for the fourth wicket to give Mumbai a platform for challenging score.

Shaw consumed 173 balls and hit 14 boundaries and one six. He was finally dismissed in the 61st over by Ayyappa Bandaru, leaving Mumbai at 189/4. Shaw, who has been part of India U-19 team, was not included in the Indian Asia Cup squad so as to make him play Ranji games. And he has made good use of the chances he got. Lad made 86 in 203 balls, with nine boundaries and two sixes, to carry Mumbai further ahead with Abhishek Nayar (25 not-out). Lad was out towards the fag end of the first day.
