ICC CWC'19: Shakib on the verge of acheiving historic feat for B'desh

Mumbai: Bangladesh batsman Shakib al Hasan has been in great form, playing Pivotal roles in the team’s victories over South Africa and West Indies.

The batsman scored 124*, 121, 64 and 75 runs in Bangladesh’s five matches matches so far, including the washout. Shakib also scored 50* in a match against Ireland which was part of a Tri-nation series. Scoring five half-centuries in his last five matches, Shakib is leading the batting force of the team.

Should Shakib manage to score another 50 runs in Thursday’s fixture against Australia, he will become the first player from Bangladesh to register six half centuries in as many ODI matches.

Bangladesh stand on 5th position on the points table, having obtained two wins, two losses and one washout against Sri Lanka. They face third-place Australia, a team in good form, only beaten by India so far in the Tournament.
