Taking one match at a time: Sreenath Arvind

Bengaluru: It’s been a rough ride for the Royal Challengers Bangalore attack so far in the IPL. From recording a hat-trick and still losing to Mumbai Indians to making things harder than they needed to be while defending 213 against Gujarat Lions, it’s been a less than ideal performance from the bowling unit.

With an away match against Kolkata Kinght Riders up next, RCB pacer Sreenath Arvind revealed that they were learning and improving as they go.

“The last win (against Gujarat) was good. We were expecting that it would end on a good note. Unfortunately we gave away a lot of runs in the end, including myself. It was a lesson, but a good win for us. We will take it one match at a time. So we’re focusing on the next one,” said Arvind.

“As a bowling unit, we are working together. We are looking at good areas that we can bowl at. We’re not thinking about the batsmen,” he added.

The left-arm quick also spoke about the pitches put out for the tournament.

“IPL 10 was supposed to provide batting paradises everywhere. But we are used to that. I think the Bengaluru wicket is behaving well.  Change of pace works well here. It depends how we bowl and bat on the day against any team. That’s what matters.”

With RCB sticking to their formula of starting slowly, the Karnataka bowler refused to read too much into it.

“It happens every year. It’s cricket and anything can happen. Now we are in a better position (than last time) where we don’t have to win every game. That being said, we look forward to winning every match,” remarked the 33-year-old adding that AB de Villiers and Tymal Mills would be back for the next match.
