Skipper Kohli believes that the Test Championship will make things difficult for the batsmen as it will result into larger scheme of things.
Mumbai: Indian skipper Virat Kohli was seen flaunting his new Test jersey with his name and number written on the back as the Indian team engaged in a photoshoot ahead of their two-match Test series against the West Indies. The first Test is scheduled to start on Thursday in Antigua.
Ahead of the Test, Team India's official Instagram account posted pictures of captain Virat Kohli, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane and youngster Rishabh Pant and others, donning their new Test jerseys with names and numbers behind.
India will commence its World Test Championship campaign at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, before moving to Sabina Park in Jamaica for the second Test against the West Indies. India are currently top of the rankings in the longest format of the game.
Skipper Kohli believes that the Test Championship will make things difficult for the batsmen as it will result into a larger scheme of things.
"The games are going to be much more competitive and it brings a lot of purpose to the Test matches you play. It's the right move and at the absolute right time," Kohli said during the West Indies Players Association awards night on Monday.
