New Delhi: Justice RM Lodha committee, in its latest report to the Supreme Court, has asked for former home secretary GK Pillai to be appointed as the observer for Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

According to the Lodha report, Pillai will have to appoint new auditors for BCCI, as the new observer, apart from overseeing the overall operations.

In its report, the Lodha committee has also asked the SC for the power to appoint the secretarial staff of BCCI, and also decide the remuneration.

The committee has asked for the SC's permission to sack all the BCCI and state federation office bearers, who fail to fulfil the criteria that it laid.

BCCI and Lodha panel have been at loggerheads, with the former suggesting that not all the recommendations by the SC-appointed committee can be implemented.

The SC is yet to accept the propositions put forth in the Lodha panel's report.
