As Mumbai Indians overcame Rising Pune Supergiant in the finals of this IPL season, Jos Buttler, too, displayed his loyalties, as he pulled a Ranbir Kapoor from Saawariya to celebrate the win. Featuring for MI this season, his 272 runs in 10 matches laid the foundation for a strong end. Although Buttler is with the England national team in Spain, preparing for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, he got carried away while jumping in joy, seemingly forgetting that he was only in his towel. Artful pixelation is all that protected his modesty, when he posted the video on Instagram. Here’s a look at the most fun on-field celebrations, that don’t involve the towel!

When it comes to celebrations, though, few do it better than the Indians. Take the hot-headed Sreeshanth for instance. In the 2006 Test match in Johannesburg, South African bowler Andre Nel, in a bout of sledging, called Sreeshant a coward and said that he would take him down in the next ball. What happened instead was Sreeshanth sending the ball — a bouncer — flying straight into the stands, leaving Nel flummoxed. A jubilant Sreeshanth then proceeded to dance, waving his bat around enthusiastically in celebration.

Think back to the ICC WT20 in Sri Lanka, five years ago, when the West Indian team were crowned champions.  Billed as one of the favourites to win, the side had disappointed overwhelmingly in the beginning. However, progressing to the final after inflicting a 74-run defeat on Australia, the West Indian team were crowned champions after they defeated the host nation by 36 runs. Led by the Gaylestorm, the West Indians, who had won their first major trophy after a 33-year drought, celebrated wildly with energetic Gangnam Style dancing as the Caribbean styled party took over the city of Colombo.

The Indian cricket team, under the tutelage of John Wright and leadership of Sourav Ganguly was chasing a mammoth of total of 326 having lost their top five with only 146 on the board. It was the 2002 Natwest Series against England at the iconic Lord’s and the heroics of Yuvraj Singh and Mohammed Kaif that bought India the victory. Earlier in the year, Flintoff had surprised the Wankhede crowd as he took off his shirt and ran around the pitch in celebration after bowling England to win over the Indian side. The Bengal Tiger returned the complement by taking off his shirt and twirling it ecstatically above his head as the English player on the pitch stared in disbelief.
