WI vs Ind, 2nd ODI: India off to a flying start

Port of Spain: India have gotten off to a rollicking start, as Shikhar Dhawan takes the initiative with a quick 50.

India take on West Indies in the second ODI, as they go looking for their first victory since the morale-sucking ICC champions Trophy defeat at the hands of Pakistan.

India: 124-0 from 20 overs

While Dhawan went all guns blazing at the other end, Rahane has played a well-paced innings today, bringing up his 18th ODI 50 with a stylish cut.

India: 86-0 from 14 overs

Shikhar Dhawan brings up his 21st ODI 50 from 49 balls. The southpaw has given the Windies bowlers a real rollicking, hitting them for 9 boundaries so far.

India: 78-0 from 12 overs

India have gotten off to a great start. Rahane and Dhawan look comfortable out there today, and its been hard work for the Windies bowlers.

Rahane gets India off the mark with a cracking boundary off Alzarri's first over. The pitch has shown a bit of uneven bounce, but that does not seem to have concerned Rahane too much.

Toss:

West Indies skipper Jason Holder has won the toss, and has elected to field first.

The covers have finally come off, as the two captains come out for the toss.

While the covers seemed to have been coming off for a while, fresh drizzle seemed to have marred those hopes of a start anytime soon.

The weather gods have decided to interrupt with play here today, as the toss gets delayed due to rain.

Preview: With the first ODI washed out with rain before the completion of even one innings, India will be looking to get the early lead in the five-match series against hosts West Indies, on Sunday.

India, who have been on great form under iconic captain Virat Kohli, have come to the Caribbean islands seeking for redemption after suffering a 180-run defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Pakistan in the final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.

With the series still tied at a deadlock after the wash out of the first ODI, the second match could also be under threat of being called off as rains are expected to hit the Trinidad capital.

India are yet to win a match after their fateful loss to Pakistan last week.
