Mumbai: Indian skipper Virat Kohli is a passionate cricketer, but sometimes his passion leads him into trouble. Recently, the captain has landed himself in another trouble. This time around, he may face ban which leads up to 1 Test or two ODIs or two T20Is, depends on whatever comes first for the player.

In his latest instance, he was slapped with a demerit point after breaching the level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the third T20 match against South Africa. This demerit point is his third one since January 2018. If a player reaches four demerit points within a period of 24 months, then they are converted into suspension points and two suspension points mean a ban.

If Virat Kohli manages to breach the code of conduct once again before February 2020, then he will be handed a suspension point, which will be on his record. Kohli received first of his three demerit points versus South Africa in January 2018 and the second one came against Afghanistan in the 2019 ICC World Cup. He has to remain cautious for the next four months in order to avoid a suspension point on his record.

Virat Kohli will next take on South Africa in the three-match Test series starting on October 2 in Vizag. After that, the skipper is likely to feature in the Bangladesh tour in November and also in the home series against Zimbabwe and Australia in January.
