Mumbai: Babar Azam’s first World Cup ton registered a crucial six-wicket win for Pakistan as the one-time champions ended New Zealand’s unbeaten streak in the 2019 ICC World Cup.
The win also kept Pakistan’s semi-final hopes alive. Pakistan who are currently ranked sixth, now have seven points from seven points from seven games.
For Pakistan, the game against Bangladesh and Afghanistan will turn out to be an eliminator match as, those matches will decide whether Pakistan will be able to make or break their 1992 feat.
The Sarfraz Khan-led team now has won two consecutive games on the trot after its defeat to India. Following the loss against India, the team has defeated South Africa by 49 runs and now have gained a six-wicket win over New Zealand.
