IPL 2018, RR vs SRH: Visitors pick up second consecutive victory on trot

Jaipur: Sunrisers Hyderabad cruised to their second win on the trot in the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) as they beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 12 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday.
RR lost Rahul Tripathi early on but Sanju Samson and Ajinkya Rahane stitched a fifty partnership. However, the men in orange found a way back into the match as they picked up wickets regularly.
Skipper Rahane was the lone hope for the hosts but Kane Williamson and co held their nerves to continue their winning run.

WICKET! Gowtham is caught at long on after a failed attempt to smash Thampi.
RR 131-5 after 19 overs:
WICKET! Soft dismissal. Knuckle ball by Kaul again and Lomror slashes hard. Gets an outside edge that heads straight to the keeper.

RR 96-4 after 14 overs:
RAJASTHAN ARE FALLING APART! Buttler smacks Rashid Khan googly but doesn't time his lofted drive quite well. Picks up Dhawan at the long on boundary.
RR 77-3 after 11 overs:
BOWLED! Stokes' disappointing run continues. Pathan, over the wicket, bowls a straight one which skids on towards the stumps. The Englishman misses his pull and his stumps are rattled.
RR 72-2 after 10 overs:
CAUGHT! Kaul bowls the knuckle ball and the batsman tries to punch it towards the on side. Doesn't connect well and finds Hales at mid-wicket.
RR 14-1 after 3 overs:
WICKET! Sandeep Sharma with the breakthrough for Sunrisers. Rahul Tripathi charged down the track, but the ball kept low and hits the stumps.
1st innings:
Jofra Archer inspired Rajasthan Royals' comeback against Sunrisers Hyderabad as the visitors finished at 151-7, after winning the toss and electing to bat.
For Sunrisers Hyderabad Kane Williamson (63 runs of 43 balls) and opener Alex Hales (45 runs of 39 balls) were the major contributors.

JOFRA STRIKES TWICE! He brought RR back in the game against Mumbai and is now working his magic again. Short ball and wide, Pathan skews it towards third man.

After good start , Rajasthan have finally comeback with two quick wickets. Lex hales wa sthe first to be dismissed caught by Samson of Gowtham's bowling for 45 runs Kane Williamson's womderful knock was ended by his countryman Ish Sodhi who had him caught by Jos Buttler behind the wicket for 63 runs

After Dhawan's wicket, Rajasthan Royals bowlers have failed to get another breakthrough as Williamson and Hales have put on unbeaten 56 run stand .

Rajasthan have kept thing tight against SRH in the opening five overs. K Gowtham is the only successful bowler so far dismissing Dhawan for 6 runs.

Preview: The stage is set for the return leg match between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, who will be facing against each other at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Sunday. Both the teams had earlier faced each other at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, where SRH won the game comfortably by 9 wickets.
The Ajinkya Rahane-led side come into the match after winning their last game against Mumbai Indians, who they beat by 3 wickets thanks to Krishnappa Gowtham’s 33 runs of 11 balls. Jofra Archer was given Man-of -the-match for his match winning performance with the ball (3/22).
Rajasthan Royals, playing on their home ground would want their star players Ben Stokes and skipper Ajinkya Rahane to fire with the bat. Sanju Samson will once again look to inflict damage on SRH bowlers with his bat. The bowling unit will be led by Jaydev Unadkat , who will be ably supported by Shreyas Gopal, who is the leading wicket taker to RR with 5 wickets.
Sunrisers are coming into the game on the back of two straight wins in the last two games. After setting target of just 133 runs to win for Kings XI Punjab, SRH bowlers led by Rashid Khan bowled brilliantly to bowl out KXIP for 119 runs. Manish Pandey played brilliant knock of 54 runs after failing to get runs in earlier matches.
After failure to score well in last match, SRH batsmen will be looking to pile runs against RR on their own turf . With strong bowling to back up the batsmen, Kane Williamson side will be looking to continue their winning run.
The match is expected to be intriguing one between both the teams as SRH has the chance to go to the top, while RR gets entry into top four.
