U-17 World Cup: Ticket counters open in Delhi from today

Delhi will host eight matches from October 6 to October 16, including all three of India's group matches.

New Delhi: The manual sale for the New Delhi games of the Fifa U-17 World Cup tickets will begin at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Thursday.

The ticketing counters, located at the stadium’s gate no. 15, will be open from 10 am to 6 pm every day. Tournament local organising committee’s project director Joy Bhattacharya said, “We are aware that a substantial number of fans are more comfortable with buying at the box office and wanted to make sure they had this opportunity.

“The box office has been very successful when introduced in Goa and we are sure it will have a similar impact on the sale of tickets in Delhi.”

The tickets will be sold at discounted rates till October 5 and are priced at Rs 150/matchday for Category 3 seats in North, South and East stands and Rs 300/matchday for Category 2 seats in the West stands.

Category 1 tickets are priced at Rs 600/matchday in the West stand and Category 4 at Rs 60/matchday both in the North and South stands.

Delhi will host eight matches from October 6 to October 16, including all three of India’s group matches.

In the tournament’s opening day’s double header at the JLN, Colombia face Ghana and India take on USA.

On October 9, Ghana play USA and India face Colombia. Mali are up against New Zealand, followed by India’s match with Ghana on October 12. Two Round of 16 matches on October 16 will round off Delhi’s hosting duties.

In another development, the All India Football Federation on Wednesday launched a limited edition of lifestyle merchandise of the national team for fans. The merchandise collection has wide range of round neck T-shirts, Polo T- shirts, wristbands, badges, phone covers, posters, among others, and is economically priced between Rs 59 and Rs 649.
