In other Secondary ties, Bombay Scottish, Powai beat St. Mary's, ICSE, Mazagaon 2-1 and held Bishop's, Kalyaninagar 1-1, while Campion routed Bishop's (Undri), Pune 4-0.

St. Peter’s, Mazagaon went down 0-1 to Bishop’s (Kalyaninagar), Pune 0-1 in a close football league game, while Cathedral & John Connon fashioned impressive wins in football and basketball, in the 29th All Maharashtra Anglo-Indian Schools tournament, at the Barnes School & Junior College, Devlali on Saturday.

St. Peter’s fell behind by a 14th minute goal scored by Arjun Jachak of Bishop’s in a Secondary league tie but fought back brilliantly immediately after, when forward Hemanshu Kundhadia fired back-to-back volleys with the first rattling the horizontal and the other sailing just over. St. Peter’s, who earlier drew Campion in a goalless encounter, intensified their search for the equaliser in the second half but it eluded them even as Siddhart Tamrakar almost swelled Bishop’s tally with two attempts at goal, with the second shot being saved by Peter’s goalkeeper Bhargav Sharma.

In other Secondary ties, Bombay Scottish, Powai beat St. Mary’s, ICSE, Mazagaon 2-1 and held Bishop’s, Kalyaninagar 1-1, while Campion routed Bishop’s (Undri), Pune 4-0. In the Junior College league, Cathedral & John Connon registered back-to-back wins over Hutchings, Pune and Christ Church, while Bombay Scottish, Mahim drew Christ Church 1-1 and beat Hutchings 1-0.
