Milan Club rally to overcome Shelar FC
Navneet Palav of Milan Club won the Big Boss Player of the Match' award.
Mumbai: Showing solid fighting spirit, Milan Club rallied splendidly to overcome Shelar FC by a narrow 2-1 margin in a round-4 match of the 2nd Borivali Premier Football League (BPFL), organised under the auspices of the MDFA by the Borivali Sports Foundation and played at the St. Francis D’Assisi Ground, Borivali (W).
In an evenly contested encounter, Shelar FC stunned the Milan citadel with an early strike through Prasad Sarang in the very sixth minute of the 70-minute encounter. Unfazed by that setback, Milan regrouped and got their act together and started to attack the rival area in search of goals. Their efforts were rewarded when Narendra Vakare found the target in the 20th minute and the teams went into the break tied at 1-all.
On resumption, Milan continued to put pressure on the Shelar defence and they managed to score the second goal through Ronak Patel in the 60th minute. Thereafter, the Milan side defended well to finish on the winning side and pick up all the three points. Navneet Palav of Milan Club won the ‘Big Boss Player of the Match’ award.
In another match, Fire Dragons did well to hold Tiger Sports Foundation to a 1-1 draw. After the first half failed to produce a goal, Prakyath Shetty broke the deadlock to give Tiger SF the lead in the 53rd minute. However, their joy was shortlived as Dragons replied back by scoring the equaliser through Denny John in the 63rd minute. The ‘Player of the Match’ was won by Denny John of Fire Dragon.
