New Delhi: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) remains hopeful of organising the FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup in November despite the Covid19 pandemic causing cancellation and postponement of top sporting events, throwing international schedules haywire.

The optimism stems from the seven months' time that the organising committee has at its disposal to prepare for the top age-group tournament.

Everything, though, depends on world football governing body, FIFA, AIFF general secretary Kushal Das said.

"FIFA will take a call on this, they are keeping track of all the developments and we will see how it goes," Das told PTI.

The World Cup is scheduled to be held from November 2 to 21 with matches to be played in Navi Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar and Guwahati.

FIFA is also working with representatives of all confederations regarding dates for their respective qualifying tournaments. The European and African qualifiers are yet to take place.
