New Delhi: Saina Nehwal has been in headlines since Monday following her series of tweet, slamming the Commonwealth Games Federation for denying access to her father Harvir Singh Nehwal at the Gold Coast Games Village.

Saina, took to Twitter to lash out at the CWF, saying, “Surprise to see that when we started from India for commonwealth games 2018 my father was confirmed as the team official and I paid the whole amount for that but when we came to the games village ... his name was cut from team official category .. and he can't even stay with me."

"He can't c my matches and he can't enter the village nor he can meet me in anyway .. what kind of support is this ..@thecgf," said Saina before adding, "I wanted his support as I regularly take him for my competitions ...but i didn't understand why nobody informed me all this earlier .. that he can't enter anywhere #CommonwealthGames2018."

In her letter to the IOA, Saina Nehwal wrote, “I msgd u and tried to call u but u didn’t pick up the call but there is so much issue going on with my father .. if his accreditation is no cleared as an official I am not going to play the matches.”.

The Indian Olympic Association on Tuesday was finally forced to get an official accreditation for Saina Nehwal's father. Saina herself tweeted back to IOA thanking for providing quick resolution.

The shuttler said, “Thank u so much @ioaindia for the support and help sorting out my father’s accreditation card in such short notice ..Hopefully, it will b great for the matches ahead ..and I m sorry for all the trouble. #CommonwealthGames2018”.

India’s doubles specialist Jwala Gutta, who has been out of national side for a long time now following her fallout with association and fellow players on Tuesday took a jibe at Nehwal in series of tweet without taking her name.

She tweeted "Hmmm..my family always paid for tickets n stayed in hotels...I have no idea what’s being promised n what’s the demand?? But for the games when u know dates long before the team leaves..isn’t it better to book n plan in advance? Threatening not play..is it correct??"
