Dubai Open: PV Sindhu outplays Akane Yamaguchi to reach semis unbeaten

Dubai: Indian star shuttler PV Sindhu eased past Japan's Akane Yamaguchi in straight games to reach the semi-finals of the Dubai World Superseries Finals unbeaten.

Rio Olympic silver medallist Sindhu defeated Yamaguchi 21-9, 21-13 in the last group stage fixture of the women's singles to place herself at the top of the Group A.

In the match which lasted for just over 36 minutes, saw the Japanese struggling against Sindhu's superior height and movement throughout the court.

Sindhu has won all her three group matches of the tournament. In her opening match, the Indian thrashed China's He Bingjao 21-11, 16-21, 21-18 and followed that up with a 21-13, 21-12 win against Japan's Sayaka Sato in second match.

Sindhu has already won India and Korea Open Super Series at the season start, while has grabbed silver at Glasgow World Championship and Hong Kong Open.
