New Delhi: Young forward Lalremsiami earned defending champions India a 1-1 draw against Korea in their last round robin match at the fifth Asian Champions Trophy women’s hockey tournament in Donghae City, Korea, on Saturday.
The draw helped India remain unbeaten in the tournament so far and emerge table toppers. They earlier won against Japan (4-1), China (3-1) and Malaysia (3-2).

Korea were the first to score, forcing an error from the Indian defence to win a short corner in the opening minute of the second quarter.
Seul Ki Cheon’s drag-flick went in near the right corner of the post.
India conceded another penalty corner, committing an infringement while attempting to defend a shot on goal at the start of the fourth quarter.
Korea failed to capitalise on the opportunity and were made to pay as Lalremsiami helped India win a penalty corner following a swift counter-attack. An alert Lalremsiami dived to flick the fall in when Gurjit’s flick rebounded off the Korean goalkeeper’s pads.
The action heated up in the final quarter as both teams pressed to score but failed in their efforts.
