Pankaj Advani wins Asian 10-red snooker

The 33-year-old started off by gaining the upper hand with a 2-0 lead but a few miscued shots helped Ehsan stay in the match.

Bengaluru: Pankaj Advani stamped his authority in the ACBS Asian 10-red snooker tour by inflicting defeat upon Ehsan Heydari Nehzad in the final held at the Karnataka State Billiards Association here on Thursday.

Pankaj was dominant and won against Ehsan by 6- 4 (52-40, 66 (58)-00, 01-63 (62), 78-04, 35-47, 00-51, 47-35, 38-39, 53 (49)-35, 51 (50)-20 ).

Pankaj, who had played some thrilling matches to march his way into final, was expecting yet another stiff challenge from his Irani opponent.  The 33-year-old started off by gaining the upper hand with a 2-0 lead but a few miscued shots helped Ehsan stay in the match.

Eventually, Pankaj showed his class and won the final two frames with ease. The semi-finals which were played in the morning witnessed exciting matches where Ehsan Heydari Nehzad and Pankaj Advani thrashed their respective opponents to meet in the finals. Pankaj Advani also won the second leg of the Asian tour which was held Jinan, China. He beat Ju Reti from China.
