Saina Nehwal bows down to Akane Yamaguchi by 13-21, 23-21, 16-21

Nehwal earlier gained a 21-13, 21-13 victory against Korea's Kim Ga Eun in the pre-quarterfinals.

Mumbai: As per NDTV sports report India’s top seeded badminton ace, Saina Nehwal crashed out of the Asian Championship out after losing 13-21, 23-21, 16-21 to third seeded Japanese badminton player, Akane Yamaguchi in the women's singles quarterfinal that being held in China’s Wuhan area. Nehwal earlier gained a 21-13, 21-13 victory against Korea’s Kim Ga Eun in the pre-quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, in the men’s department Sameer Verma bowed down to China’s Shi Yuqi by 10-21, 12-21. In addition to this, India’s Kidambi Srikanth witnessed an embarrassing 16-21, 20-22 defeat to Indonesia's Shesar Hiren Rhustavito in the first round itself. The only exception was PV Sindhu, who is gearing up to face China’s Cai Yanyan in her quarters today.
