Kreishh Gurbaxani regains form to tame Tahaa Khan

Mumbai youngster Kreishh Gurbaxani regained his form and touch to breeze past Tahaa Khan of Pune 3-0 in the best-of-5-frame Group-G round-robin league match of the Maharashtra State Senior Snooker & Billiards Selection (leg-1) Championship at the Deccan Gymkhana  in Pune.

The 16-year-old Khar Gymkhana cueist Gurbaxani, who had lost 0-3 to city mate Abhishek Bajaj in the opening match on Monday, was in total control and did well to pull off the win in three closely contested frames at 59-22, 59-50 and 59-53 to record his first win.

Sparsh Pherwani, another young cueist from Mumbai, also began on the right track as he smoothly sailed past Aakash Padilkar (Pune) 3-1 (69-33, 74-26, 33-68, 71-36) in a Group-F encounter.

Anand Raghuvanshi and Abhimanyu Gandhi, both from Mumbai made bright positive starts, comfortably winning the opening group matches. In a Group-C match, Anand tamed Rohan Kothare of Aurangabad 3-0 (73-46, 69-15, 65-51) and Abhimanyu prevailed over Gaurav Patange of Pune 3-1 (56-46, 53-21, 21-50, 73-34) in a Group-H tie.
