Mumbai: PV Sindhu has added one more feather to her cap after she qualified for the World Super Series Finals for the first time on Tuesday.

However, Saina Nehwal, former World No 1, who is recovering from injury, failed to make it to the prestigious tournament.

Sindhu, India’s Rio Olympics silver medallist, who was ranked number 16 in Destination Dubai Rankings, grabbed her place in the tournament following her stupendous run in China Open, where she clinched the title, and ended runners-up in the Hong Kong Open Super Series in the last week.

The win in China Open helped her earn 11,000 points and the finish in the final in Hong Kong powered her past compatriot Nehwal, Thailand's Porntip Buranaprasertsuk and Japan's Sayaka Sato and Minatsu Mitani.
