Syska LED Smartlight talks to Amazon Alexa
The Syska LED Smartlight is the first step to an increasingly smart home.
Smart homes are quickly becoming a common place in India and Syska is one of the brands that is pushing for it to become a normality.
Syska has recently announced the LED Smartlight and one of the most interesting features is that it pairs with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. The Pune based brand launched the WiFi-ready LED Smartlight that is compatible with Amazon’s Echo Dot or Echo Dot Plus smart speaker that works in conjunction with Alexa smart assistant.
There are a variety of voice commands on the Syska LED Smartlight that can help make life a bit smoother. For example, if it's evening, all you got to say is, Alexa, turn”the light to warm white.” If you need the light to be turned brighter, the same can be done. One can also setup routines such as “Alexa, start my day” so that your one command can trigger multiple actions by Alexa from switching on your bedroom and bathroom lights simultaneously.
In addition to using voice commands, users can also download the Syska Smart Home app to control the lights. The App lets you choose your shade of light from a palette of a million colour combinations. You can also set wake up alarms which will switch on the bedside lamp. Being WiFi enabled, you can perform these operations from anywhere, like switching on the porch light as you approach your home.
The 7 watt Syska Smartlight fits in a standard lamp socket and costs Rs 1,799. It may not be the cheapest solution, but this is the first step to tomorrow's increasingly smart home.
