ADATA Technology today launched the HD710 Pro durable external hard drive alongside an addition to the best-selling range of HD650 hardrives. The latest HD710 Pro exceeds IP68 dust and waterproofing plus military-grade shock resistance offering up to 4TB capacity, meanwhile the refreshed HD650 arrives in a new light blue over black color scheme. Being two new USB 3.1 models, ADATA hopes to have them bolster its external hard drive portfolio.

HD710 Pro

Completely dust-tight Adata claims this new hard drive will be able to withstand up to 60-minute submersion in 2 meters of water. Not only this, it also comes with the MIL-STD 810G 516.6 requirements, surviving shocks, and impacts associated with drops from up to 1.5 meters. Thus, it has a custom triple-layered protective build and implements shock sensor technology that stops and restarts drive activity when shocks or vibrations are detected to prevent data corruption, claims ADATA.

The drive has a USB port cover, facilitating easy opening and closing, and a useful wraparound groove for storing its USB cable. Although it is available in four colours the red, yellow, and blue variants are available in 1TB/2TB, while the black version goes up to 3TB/4TB.

Priced at Rs 5,999 for 1TB it is available on e-commerce website Amazon, Vedant Computers, and other retailers.

The HD650 also uses tough triple-layered construction to protect stored data and features the same shock sensor technology, similar to the HD710 Pro claims ADATA. The refreshed HD650 ships in a light blue over black color scheme and offers consumers up to 4TB capacity, double the 2TB maximum on previously-released HD650 drives.

HD650 is also available on Amazon with prices starting at Rs 5,999.
