CES 2018: Baidu unveils three smart speakers

CES 2018 is witnessing all kinds of technological innovations. While some models are being revamped, some totally new devices are being introduced.
And coming up with a new innovation, Baidu unveiled three smart speakers which are connected to its Duer personal assistant. That definitely means that the speakers won’t be needing either Alexa or Google Assistant. The smart speakers have a smart projector which designed to cater to the Japanese market. The devices aim at providing customers with the ability to talk with a virtual assistant.

The first smart device, Sengled Smart Lamp Speaker, looks like the Amazon Echo second generation, which turned the top two segments into an LED lamp while retaining the smart speaker capabilities. The smart lamp that includes Amazon’s virtual assistant and it can pulse its light in time with music and display a wide gamut of different colors, so people can set lighting that matches their mood.

The second one, a smart screen which is a lot like Echo show and is called the Little Fish VS1. It’s a tinier version of the original Little Fish, which was introduced in 2017. The device has a wedge shape with the screen on top and room for a speaker on the bottom, and it’s wrapped in fabric. It also has facial recognition, although that might not be any better than the voice recognition most smart speakers have. It’s supposed to launch in China this March.

The third one is the  PopIn Aladdin smart lamp includes Duer smart speaker capabilities as well as serving as a projector and smart lamp. It’s designed for Japanese homes, which are usually smaller.
