Xbox One X and One S to have AMD FreeSync displays' support in the future
FreeSync technology helps in removing stuttering, which is usually associated with gaming on monitors.
Microsoft had recently launched its Xbox X in India with a price tag of Rs 44,990. The company is now planning to add support for AMD’s FreeSync displays to its Xbox One X and One S consoles. In addition to FreeSync displays, the company is including 1440p support in the upcoming spring update for both the consoles.
FreeSync is similar to Nvidia’s G-Sync, which helps in removing fluttering in monitors while gaming and the built-in technology helps in syncing the refresh rates of the monitors and consoles to ensure smoother gaming experience. Furthermore, both the FreeSync and G-Sync are often used in gaming PCs and high-end monitors. This addition of 1440p resolution along with FreeSync is an added bonus for the latest Xbox users.
In addition to FreeSync, the company is also planning to support auto low latency mode on TVs, which allows compatible TVs to recognise when a game is being played and auto turn-ons game mode/low latency mode for an optimised gaming experience. According to TheVerge, “Microsoft had demonstrated this during the company’s Inside Xbox stream and the mode will switch back once a game isn’t running.” The update is gonna roll out soon this year for the Xbox One X and One S users.
