Samsung’s successor to the Galaxy Watch Active smartwatch will likely be launched soon in both 40 mm and 44 mm sizes.

Since Samsung won’t get the required FDA approval on time, the devices will likely skip on the electrocardiography (ECG) features and fall detection that according to rumors was going to release in this edition.

This would mean that the much awaited Galaxy watch with electrocardiography support will launch next year, in 2020.

Reports also suggest that the new Galaxy Watch Active will release in 3 variants, one featuring LTE, while one will have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. A mysterious third variant, that will likely tie up with the Under-Armour brand, will come with a fancy sports strap and six months of MapMyRun subscription.

The Galaxy Active Watch two series is expected to launch in at least four colour variants as well, with stainless steel cases and leather straps.

The smartwatch itself is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Note 10 smartphone at a launch event in New York on August 7.
