Netgear launches JGS516PE ProSAFE Plus 16 Ports Switch With PoE

The switch has network features such as VLANs, QoS, and IGMP snooping to help optimise the performance of business networks.

JGS516PE ProSAFE Plus 16 ports switch comes at a price of Rs 12,000.

Netgear, a global networking company has rolled out JGS516PE ProSAFE Plus 16 ports switch with PoE. It comes in a variety of configurations ranging from 5 port desktop to 48 port rackmount. Some models support Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and can power devices such as IP phones, IP surveillance cameras and wireless access points with just an Ethernet cable.

The switch also comes as an upgrade for SMB network with half of the ports offering support for PoE. The PoE smart managed plus models are supposed to be cost-efficient Gigabit Ethernet solution for converged networks where PoE support is needed but isn’t necessary on all ports.

It also features VLAN – a segmented network divided into smaller groups for more secure and efficient use of network resources. It comes with QoS, for optimised network performance and better delivery of mission-critical traffic such as voice and video. The switch supports IGMP Snooping, for improved network efficiency on delivering multicast traffic link aggregation and Port Mirroring – for quicker network diagnostics and troubleshooting Cable Test Easily identify bad Ethernet cables.

JGS516PE ProSAFE Plus 16 ports switch is available through authorised Netgear partners, other reseller channels and e-commerce portals at a price of Rs 12,000.
