This week I can share my experience with two audio accessories that might do the job -- in different ways.

Along with your mobile phone and power bank, it makes sense to pack a pair of earphones when you travel these days. With so much live and stored entertainment on your phone, you can shut off your surroundings -- bus station, airport, long wait or flight -- and drift into a private world, provided you have the required headgear. This week I can share my experience with 2 audio accessories that might do the job -- in different ways

Riversong Rhythm L

Riversong is a respected mobile accessory brand from China and the Rhythm L is a comfortable wireless headset for those who like their ears fully covered with comfortable caps.

This is a multipurpose device -- source-wise and can connect to your music via Bluetooth or with the audio cable provided. You can also listen to FM radio or store music on the headset's SD card. And you can take your phone calls, using the well-hidden mike to speak. The two well-cushioned earpieces, fold away cleverly into a very compact package for travel and at 249 grams it is light too. The Riversong Rhythm L costs Rs 1,999

Rapoo VM 300

For those who are not comfortable with the basic earpiece that is usually given with mobile phones, The VM 300 from Chinese maker, Rapoo, might be sound (pun intended!) buy. For one thing, it is wireless (Bluetooth), comes with firm anchor clips that keep the earpieces firmly in place and offer three sizes of in-ear cushions. The microphone and all other controls are in-wire and so is the USB charging point for the 60 mAh battery.

The makers classify this as a gaming headset -- mobile gaming, I presume, but this looks like a good deal for anyone who wants an ultra compact pair of earphones with great sound. The market price is Rs 2,999 but significant discounts are offered online and are worth a check.
