Harman launches 200 Series two-way cinema speaker
The new products are claimed to offer an affordable solution that delivers the good audio experience in small- to mid-sized cinemas.
Harman has launched the JBL 200 series two-way cinema loudspeakers and JBL CPi2000 cinema processor. The new products are claimed to offer an affordable solution that delivers the good audio experience for movie enthusiasts in small- to mid-sized cinemas of India.
As per Harman, the 200 Series offers improved performance and coverage while lowering the total cost of ownership. Similarly, JBL CPi2000 is a professional-grade processor providing an audio enhancement and volume control for economical cinemas.
In association with its authorized dealer, Harman is demonstrating these new solutions in a simulated cinema environment, to give the audience a comprehensive experience of the sound delivery, quality and coverage at the ongoing Mumbai Expo.
The JBL 200 Series also includes acoustic aperture technology that works with its low-distortion 15-inch driver. The integrated acoustic apertures is meant to create a horn-loading effect, helping to maintain a wide horizontal coverage pattern through the crossover range while improving speech clarity.
JBL CPi2000 features DSP processing, room EQ tuning, volume control and system fault detection and can be configured through a GUI software. CPi2000 offers four input options – analog input, digital input, non-sync input and mono mic input. The analog input and digital input accept audio signal from any cinema server. Non-sync input receives line-level stereo signal from a CD or DVD player for background music playback. Mic input connects to an RTA microphone for room tuning.
Designed to use with Crown cinema amplifiers and JBL cinema speakers, CPi2000 is said to be able to detect faults of amplifiers or speakers and send the fault information to a TMS or a 3rd party control system via its RJ45 connector.
