Some smart phone manufacturers are sprucing up their phone’s RAM so that it could give your laptop a complex; Some have camera qualities that will make you throw away your DSLRs, battery life that lasts an entire Himalayan trek the list goes on. But the recently launched Huawei Honor 5C strikes a balance of specs, and caters to those who want a device that’s simple and sophisticated.
The Honor 5C comes with a brushed metal frame body with curved edges. Weighing 156 grams, it feels quite light and has a good grip. The 5.2 inch screen size may seem small when compared to other devices in the market with standard 5.5 inch or above, but we felt that it was easy to use even with one hand. The display is crystal clear with the IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 1080x1920 pixel resolution.
The Honor 5C runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by a 64-bit Kirin 650 octa-core processor with 2 GB RAM. Performance wise it was able to run without any lags.
The 13 megapixel rear and 8 megapixel front camera were able to produce some decent pictures with good sharpness and clarity. Even the low light pictures were visibly bright. However, camera operations were so quick, that a few pictures got captured unknowingly.
The device comes with a finger print sensor at the rear, which was to easy to set up and quick to recognise. This 4G phone comes with a dual SIM slot, which also has an integrated microSD card slot. The internal memory of 16 GB is expandable up to 128 GB. It sports a 3,000mAh battery, which gives you a decent life of up to one day. Priced at Rs 10,999, the Honor 5C is a pocket-friendly device that does not have fancy frills but doesn’t compromise on features or performance either.
