Google revamped Hangouts seems to have failed too. Rumors indicate that the company is considering either to launch or shutdown a messaging app. In the latter case scenario, it could be Google Hangouts.

According to a report on 9to5 Google, Google Hangouts as a consumer product will come to an end in 2020. Google Hangouts matured from the earlier Google Talk or GChat app. Recently, the company also shut down Google+ because of lackluster performance.

Besides, Reuters recently reported that EU antitrust regulators have asked Google’s rivals if the internet search giant unfairly demotes local search competitors, according to a questionnaire seen by Reuters, a move which could lead to a fourth case against the Alphabet unit.

Google has been fined a total 6.76 billion euros ($7.7 billion) in the last 17 months for favouring its comparison shopping service and for using its dominant Android mobile operating system to reinforce its search engine market power.
